1973 Dodge Challenger

Owned by Steve & Barb Doyle

Steve obtained his 1973 Dodge Challenger from a friend in 1993. His friend bought the car in 1974 from Transit Town Dodge and drove it until 1976. It was stored until 1981 when his friend changed the color from the original Rally Red to White. He was trying to duplicate the look of the Challenger in the movie Vanishing Point. The car received a new paint job but it was never completely put back together. It was stored with no additional work done on it.

After the car sat for many years his friend knew that he wouldn't be completing the car and decided to sell it. Steve was offered the first option to buy it because of the past history of working on the car.

Steve's idea for the car was to bring it back to the original color and make it a nice summer driver. As the car was being re-assembled it got to the point of becoming a show car versus a cruiser.

The car had a few issues when it first came out. The car seemed to have a mind of its own. So Steve nicknamed the car "Christine" after the movie "Christine" where the car was possessed.

We have had a lot of fun going to Shows, Cruise Nights and parades putting on over 30,000 miles. We have met a lot of great people and made many good friends.
