1972 Chevelle SS 350

After 15 months of searching the internet for an affordable car, I found my Chevelle with a "For Sale" sign in the spectator parking section of the 2001 SMOR outdoor show. The car was owned by a Macedon resident only 8 miles from my house. I took possession of the car in June of 2001.

I made my first showing doing a early morning show for channel 8. We gathered at the old Happy Days restaurant. There I met Lynn Bohm for the first time. The date? September 11th, 2001. Since then Lynn and I have become good friends.

I have had the engine rebuilt to a mildly warm 355 c.i. along with an Edelbrock performer intake and cam package. The bumpers have been replaced as the chrome was completely gone off of the top half and would have cost a minimal $400 each to replate. With Lynn Bohm's assistance the car now has front disk brakes and new front upper and lower control A-arms.

The engine has my home grown custom powder coated valve covers and sports Dynomax headers flowing through a Flowmaster 2 1/2 inch exhaust with 30 series mufflers, and has the rear-end gears replaced from 2.92 non posi to 3.55 with a positraction section.

From 50 feet away the car looks great, but could use a paint refresh.
